The first one is A4, pen. Quite pleased with this one.
Dr Sketchy's
Welcome back to me!
Well, I can't believe that I've been away from this blog for so long! The original intention is still there, so I'm giving it another go.
I'm currently going to three art classes so I've got plenty of drawings to upload. They are Louise's class, we meet every Monday, usually do a mix of things, currently we are drawing from a model; Affinity, as organised by Matt, we meet around once a month and draw from a model; and Dr. Sketchy's, Coventry, once a month or so, with a model (and prizes - usually chocolate!)
I'm also doing a series called "Off the Telly", as well as all the other bits and bobs I do, and have done! So here we go again!

Welcome to Sketches

Various strands of fate were the causes for starting this blog;
I drew a sketch once of a lady, dressed in black, drawing in her sketchbook at a ceiledh. Many years later I have come to know this person, eventually I remembered that I had a sketch of her somewhere. So I spent quite a few hours going through my sketchbooks looking for this sketch, during which time I ended up reminiscing about various sketches and the people in them etc. I eventually found it and sent her a scan. As it happens, she is a superb illustrator, who has her own blog and website.
I have an artist friend at work and we have been encouraging each other to draw and paint more, so much so that he has set up a little art club that meets once a month to draw. We have also started to get together now and again to draw each other. He's always going on at me to put my art on the net so more people can see it. Needless to say, he's a great friend, with a blog and a website!
So I thought why not put my sketches up and just ramble on about them, like I was doing while looking through my sketch books. So here I am!
This blog is mainly for me, but you are welcome to join in.
Oh, and thank you Cathy for that little strand of fate, and thank you Matt for other things but NOT for pressing that damn lever on my chair....!
