Off the Telly

I have one of those digital PVR thingumummys where you can pause and rewind live tv etc. Great little gadget! The first two are from one of my favourite programmes ever, always full of great dramatic light and shade, and the third one is from a vampire series.

Affinity

The model for this group is usually Steve. We meet roughly once a month. Nothing of note in this session, except maybe the foreshortening one. All were A3, pen.

Dr Sketchy's

The model here was Arthur, great model good muscles, and kept us entertained with a few jokes as well!

The first one is A4, pen. Quite pleased with this one.

Another portrait, this one is A3, pen with a bit of pencil. Good, but the eyes should have been much better! Not natural enough.

A3, pen. I enjoyed doing the arm on this one,

Silly one, but I liked the way the legs were done. This won me a bar of chocolate!

Dr Sketchy's

These are from the most recent class, the model was Caroline. Mostly A3.

The next one is A3, done with a gel pen. Quite pleased with this one, the likeness was good.

Also pleased with this one, done in pencil. The sketchbooks I tend to use are from WH Smiths, the paper is smooth, great for using gel pens on and good value!

This one is my favourite from this session, ink and pencil. A shame the paper wasn't a teeny bit wider. These last three were about 15-20 mins. There were some others, but they weren't that good!

Welcome back to me!

Well, I can't believe that I've been away from this blog for so long! The original intention is still there, so I'm giving it another go.

I'm currently going to three art classes so I've got plenty of drawings to upload. They are Louise's class, we meet every Monday, usually do a mix of things, currently we are drawing from a model; Affinity, as organised by Matt, we meet around once a month and draw from a model; and Dr. Sketchy's, Coventry, once a month or so, with a model (and prizes - usually chocolate!)

I'm also doing a series called "Off the Telly", as well as all the other bits and bobs I do, and have done! So here we go again!
